i want to tell you about a photographer named david.
i don’t know why i’m using his real name. i’ve been sitting with this post for three days trying to figure out how to write it and every time i try to soften it or make it vaguer it loses the thing that makes it true. so. david.
it was two years ago. a jewelry campaign — small brand, decent rate, the kind of job you take because it fills a tuesday and pays part of your rent. i showed up at the studio at 9am the way i always show up — early, prepared, already knowing the brief, already knowing what i was going to bring to it.
